Position: Laborer/Grounds person Qualifications: Typical Work Activities • Mows, fertilizes lawns, rakes cuts grass and leaves • Plant flowers and takes care of weeding flowerbeds, walkways, and driveways • Plants, trims, prune trees, hedges and shrubs • Keeps all walks and drives free of litter • Cleans and removes debris from gutters and coach basins • May operate snowplow and sanding equipment • Removes snow and ice from walks, pathways, and steps • May secure buildings and property • Instructs subordinates in proper procedures relating to the care and upkeep of grounds • When now working as a grounds-person, performs other routine manual work inside and outside • In absence of custodians and/or cleaners may act as a substitute
