ANNOUNCING THE FOLLOWING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYFOR 2024-2025 Position: Transportation Supervisor Location: Catskill Central School District Job Description:Plan all bus routes and consult with drivers concerning stops and turnaround locationsand present routes to the board of Education in August for approval;Ride over the route with each driver before opening of school to acquaint the driver withthe route to estimate the timing of the route and the length of the route;Plan any necessary feeder routes, obtain bids and prepare contracts after Boardapproval;Schedule all Contract Transportation for Handicapped Students, obtain bids and prepareroutes;Plan transportation for all athletic trips, field trips and special runs;Work with the prospective drivers to prepare for Class II license and conduct other in-house training prior to new driver taking examination for Class II license;Conduct bus drills and arrange for bus loading and unloading;Cooperate and work with Building Principals when necessary regarding disciplineproblems;Complete the required transportation payroll information and other required reports, i.e.SED reports, Transportation Routing Data sheets, 19A requirements, etc;Approve any necessary overtime for mechanics;Confer with Head Mechanic to plan maintenance schedule;Conduct Safety Meetings and other meetings as may be required by law;Secure information on road conditions as early as possible and notify the Superintendentof Schools by 5:30 a.m. to determine if conditions warrant the closing of school duringinclement weather;Maintain accurate records of maintenance and replacement of bus fleet.
