Position: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Location: Catskill Central School District Overview: Catskill Central School District is seeking a dynamic Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. This district-level position holds administrative responsibility in several key areas: curriculum and instruction, professional development, testing coordination and data management, and serving as the district's information officer. The Assistant Superintendent also plays a critical role in annual goal development, long-range planning and district-level grant and report management. This role serves as the acting superintendent in the superintendent's absence.Qualifications:Master’s degree or DoctorateNew York State Teaching CertificateNew York State Administrative Certificate (one of the following):School District Administrative Certificate (SDA)School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS)School District Leader (SDL)Prior experience as an administratorMinimum 3-5 years of teaching experienceDemonstrated success in improving student performanceStrong track record in staff development and technology integration Supervisory Responsibilities:CAA Principals Reports to: Superintendent of Schools Key Responsibilities Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment:Guide the instructional programCoordinate with building leaders all curriculum development committeesOversee educational programming, instructional priorities, and curriculum developmentAssist with Social-Emotional Learning initiativeObserve and evaluate teacher performanceCollaborate with building principals and teachers on instructional programsSupport vertical teams and grade transitionsDevelop academic intervention plans with building administrationOversee NCLB Title Grants and end-of-year reportsPrepare and present public presentations on district initiatives, school performance, and budgetCommunicate instructional program and policies to parents and the communityOversee instructional data warehousing and usageConduct studies and research for curriculum managementOversee textbook/material and supplies coordination Professional Development:Manage the district-wide professional development program and budgetOrganize Superintendent's Conference Days Organize workshops for administration and school-related personnelOversee staff training in instructional software and programsEstablish conference and workshop approval protocols Testing Coordination:Manage district-wide state assessment testing, scorer training, and data managementSupervise the review and correction of NYSED Testing reportsCoordinate with BOCES for Data Warehouse and Regents scoring servicesWork with building principals to establish a district-wide testing schedule Data Privacy and Management:Serve as the District Integrity Officer and Data Protection OfficerRecommend and implement software for student data management solutionsOversee the Student Information SystemServe as the District Data Liaison to NERICMaintain and track student enrollment Other Responsibilities:Member of the Policy CommitteeAttend all Board of Education meetings and present reports as neededPerform other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools Salary: Up to $145,000.00 based on experience Effective: July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025 Deadline: July 8, 2024 Please apply at www.pnwboces.org/olas (OLAS Online Application System for K – 12 Education)Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume and references to OLAS.The Catskill Central School District is an equal opportunity employer and offers employment and educational opportunities without regard to race, color, national origin, creed, religion, marital status, sex, age disability, sexual orientation, genetic information or any other characteristic prohibited by NYS or Federal Law.
