Position: Educational Technology SpecialistAssignment: Catskill Central School DistrictQualifications: NYS K – 12 Teaching Certification is requiredEffective: 9/1/2022Deadline: 7/2/2022Salary: Per CTA ContractFunding Source: ARPDescription: Specific Responsibilities: • Works collaboratively with staff to develop professional development activities to deepentheir knowledge, skills and performance in using technology. • Assists staff with planning, developing and modeling effective use of technology integrationin instruction in the classroom and computer lab. • Coordinates planning and direction for Computer Assisted Instructional softwareprograms. • Meet with teachers to help them plan and develop lessons for integrating technology intothe curriculum. • Assist teachers with designing websites. • Work with teachers to decide what software would work with their curriculum. •Works collaboratively with the Network Administrator and makes recommendationswith ordering software, becomes familiar with ordered software, to be able to train teachers onhow to use that software. • Maintains an inventory of District software and keep license renewals up to date. • Active member of the District’s Technology Committee and maintains an inclusive and cohesive process to develop, implement, update, and monitor a dynamic, long-range and systematic technology plan to achieve the vision and makes recommendations via technology presentations to the Superintendent and BOE. May chair or co-chair meetings when applicable. • Works with the District Technology Committee to develop, implement, monitor andupdate District Technology policies and guidelines to ensure compatibility oftechnologies and presents recommendations to the Superintendent. • Support grant writing efforts for educational technology programs for the Districtand other special programs, Arts and Ed, Catskill Educational Foundation. • Identify, communicate, ensure equity of access to technology and adaptive technologyresources that enable and empower all learners and educators. • Maintain an awareness of emerging technologies and their potential uses in education andadvocates for research-based effective practices in use of technology. • Employ technology for communication and collaboration among colleagues, staff,parents, students, and the larger community. • Works collaboratively with the leadership team with making recommendations on the useof multiple methods to assess and analyze data, interpret results and communicate findingsto improve instructional practice and student learning. • Engage in sustained, job-related professional learning using technology resources • Create and facilitate professional development opportunities as needed.• Models the routine, intentional, and effective use of technology and enforce social, legaland ethical practices to promote responsible use of technology. • Identifies, uses, evaluate and promote technologies to enhance and support instructionand NYS standards-based curriculum and National Educational Technology Standardsleading to high levels of student achievement. • Promote and enforce privacy, security, and online safety related to the use of technology. • Coordinates with Pre-K to 12 Building & District level administrators and departmentheads technology resources for curriculum support for their building and/ordepartment. • Facilitates the shared development by all stakeholders of a vision for technology use andwidely communicates that vision.
