ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALSCamden Elementary School (1)McConnellsville Elementary School (1) The Camden Central School District has vacancies for Elementary Principal positions at Camden Elementary and McConnellsville Elementary Schools. These positions will be responsible for the total operation of their respective school buildings. These positions are effective July 1, 2025.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:· New York State Certification to practice as a school principal.· Master’s Degree or higher, in Education Administration.· Candidates must have completed a minimum of three (3) years of public school teaching and/or administration.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:· 11 month position· Salary and work year are according to the negotiated contract with the Camden Administrators Association. ($93,000-105,000)· Performance of this position will be evaluated, in writing, annually by the Superintendent of Schools.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Leadership and Instructional OversightServes as the educational leader of the building. Oversees the building's instructional program, ensuring full implementation of grade-level, District-approved curricula.Supervises the teaching process.Plans, organizes, and directs the implementation of all school activities in support of the building’s Strategic Plan.Supervises the school’s guidance program to enhance individual student education and social-emotional learning development.Implements and supervises the school’s Special Education services and coordinates with the Director and Assistant Director of Student Support Services as necessary.Oversees the Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) Committee.Evaluates and counsels staff members regarding their individual and group performance.Implements the District APPR and tenure review programs for the building.School Climate and DisciplineEstablishes and maintains an effective and positive learning climate in the school.Annually measures the culture and climate of the building.Establishes guidelines for proper student conduct and maintaining discipline aligned to the District Code of Conduct.Initiates, designs, and implements programs to meet the specific needs of all students.Communication and Community EngagementEstablishes and maintains favorable relationships with families and local community groups to foster understanding and solicit support for school objectives.Effectively communicates with faculty, staff, students and families regularly.Keeps the Superintendent informed of the school’s activities as well as any ongoing concerns.Attends special events to recognize student achievements and school-sponsored activities.Conducts regular staff meetings to facilitate communication about instructional programs, organization, and policies.Operational and Administrative ManagementAssists in scheduling classes and extracurricular activities.Coordinates support services, including maintenance, security, food services, and financial and accounting functions for the building.Implements and supervises grants awarded to the building/District, as applicable.Prepares and administers the school’s budget in support of the building Strategic Plan.Supervises the preparation of reports, records, and all paperwork required for school administration.Partners with the District Office to oversee any capital improvements for the building and grounds.Fulfills any and all responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.Staff Development and SupportOrients newly assigned staff members and assists in their development, as appropriate.Assists in the implementation of the mentor program within the building along with the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending meetings, reading professional journals, and discussing mutual challenges with colleagues.Professional and District CollaborationParticipates in Principals meetings and other required meetings to support collaboration and decision-making.Interprets and adheres to all Laws, Labor Agreements, Board Policies and Administrative Regulations.Partners with the District Office Administrative team to fulfill the mission, vision and strategic plan for both the building and District.Undertakes additional assignments as specified by the Superintendent of Schools.
