Probationary Chemistry TeacherThe Byram Hills Central School District is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable certified secondary Chemistry educator for a full-time probationary position at Byram Hills High School, beginning in the 2025–2026 school year.Seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to instruct Regents Chemistry aligned with the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS). The successful candidate must be able to teach Pre-AP level Chemistry to students who will be taking AP Chemistry and high-level STEM science courses, such as Authentic Science Research and other AP courses with significant chemistry content.Applicants must demonstrate deep content knowledge, a passion for science education, and a firm grasp of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), specifically New York’s adopted version. Experience with inquiry-based pedagogy, three-dimensional learning, and authentic, real-world applications of science is essential.Qualifications:New York State Certification in Chemistry (Grades 7–12) – RequiredDual certification is preferred.Understanding of and experience with NGSS-aligned curriculum and instructional strategies.Capacity to create student-centered, inclusive, and engaging learning environments.Effective communicator and collaborator with students, families, and colleagues.
