K-5 Curriculum ChairpersonThe K-5 Curriculum Chairperson will have expertise in literacy, knowledge of elementary curriculum and instruction, and experience in facilitating professional development. The Chairperson will oversee the quality and implementation of the K-5 academic program under the Deputy Superintendent and in partnership with the elementary principals and special services administrators.Responsibilities:The position of K-5 Curriculum Chairperson requires a collaborative leader with elementary teaching, administrative experience, and a demonstrated record of accomplishment in professional development. The successful candidate will:Support and evaluate the implementation of curriculum and instruction across the K-5 academic disciplines, aligned with local, state, and national standards.Implement and monitor a K-5 assessment system to ensure grade level and vertical alignment of the curriculum.Coach and supervise classroom teachers, in collaboration with the elementary principals.Assist faculty in implementing an effective MTSS framework.Support the use of student performance data to evaluate the academic and support programs.Develop and provide professional learning opportunities in high-quality curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.Communicate the curricular and instructional program within and across the school buildings and with the parent community.Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional learning in elementary curriculum, instruction, and assessments.Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.Qualifications:Hold NYS SDL certificationNYS Literacy certification preferredSalary is competitive and commensurate with experience
