BYRAM HILLS SCHOOL DISTRICTARMONK, NYLocated just 45 minutes north of New York City, the award-winning Byram Hills School District offers rigorous standards for students and seeks educators and administrators with a passion for learning, commitment to students, and dedication to working as a team with parents and staff.AnticipatedEffective ImmediatelyAssistant Director of Special Services, K-12, Health ServicesUnder the supervision of the Director of Special Services, facilitate effective instructional programs for students with disabilities and assist with the operation of the District's Special Education programs and services. Oversee mild/moderate programs and teacher aides. Assist in the planning, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of programs for individuals who qualify for special education services; provide training to special and general education faculty, support staff and parents; implement progress monitoring systems; and serve as a resource in the assessment and instructional planning of individuals who qualify for special education services.Major Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with school staff and other District staff to research and implement effective programs for students with disabilities at District Schools.Participate in the design, coordination and implementation of collaborative programs that support Least Restrictive Environment; provide direct support and assistance to administrators and teachers.Plan and support professional development regarding instructional programs and strategies for students with disabilities.Supervise and evaluate special education faculty and support staff.Identify instructional techniques and strategies that improve the achievement of special education students in both special education and general education classes; provide classroom support.Integrate researched-based instructional programs and strategies for students with disaiblitites that align with the District's general eduction program. Assist with special education curriculum revision and development.Analyze data and apply the analysis in assisting special education staff and related service providers to implementing age/grade appropriate programs and services for students with disabilities.Assist with training for all District staff on special education laws, regulations and district procedures.Consult and collaborate with administrators, faculty, support staff, and parents on the management of individual student needs and desired outcomes.Perform other tasks and assume responsibilities as may be assigned.Requirements: Special Education classroom and Administrative experience desiredNYS SDL Certification
