The Assistant Director of Physical Education, Health & Athletics will:Promote a shared vision of athletics that emphasizes character, perseverance, teamwork and sportsmanshipProvide direct supervision of the interscholastic and intramural athletic programs, which includes assisting with game and practice supervisionCultivate relationships with parents and partnership with community organizations in support of the athletic programObserve and evaluate K-12 physical education teachers, health education teachers, and coaches to enhance teacher/coach performanceFacilitate professional development and clinics for teachers and coachesEnhance communication to engage stakeholders, including students, parents, faculty, and community members, in a shared commitment to the goals of the athletic program and the DistrictQualifications for this leadership position include:At least five years of experience as a successful teacher and coach (preferably at the varsity level)Valid NYS teaching certification preferred (physical education and/or health) Administrative certification (SDA or SDL)
