The Bethpage UFSD is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics. As the Director, you will be responsible for supervising and overseeing the Health and Physical Education departments and all coaches and athletic events. QUALIFICATIONS: SDL CertificationSuccessful teaching experience.Understanding of the Health and Physical Education Curriculums and NYS Standards.Experience in coaching and knowledge of all interscholastic athletic programs.Familiarity with budgeting, managing equipment, uniforms and facility needs.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and working conditions as per the BAO Contract. RESPONSIBILITIES: Observes and evaluates Physical Education and Health teachers in the elementary and secondary schools.Facilitates building level, department, and district meetings.Oversees all interscholastic athletic programs, including scheduling, coaching staff supervision, program expansion and student eligibility.Promote student safety, sportsmanship, wellness initiatives and inclusive participation across all programs.Recruit, hire, mentor and evaluate coaching and department staff.Serve as district liaison to parent groups, community organizations and athletic governing bodies.Manages budgeting and ordering of equipment and supplies.Completes other related tasks as required by building and central administration.
