The Bethpage Union Free School District is looking for a District Director for Special Education to work closely with the Executive Director for PPS ensuring that students with disabilities receive an enriched and inclusive education. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and eager to support and supervise our dynamic teachers and programs. Bethpage prides itself on always doing what is best for the students. The Executive Director for PPS has created a program second to none. We understand the importance of the home school connections especially for students with disabilities. Everyone works hard to develop positive and supportive relationships with all parents and students. The main responsibilities of the District Director of Special Education are to:Supervise Special Education Teachers, Teacher Aides, Teaching Assistants and related service providersPerform observations and evaluationsFacilitate monthly department meetings at the elementary, middle and high schoolsChair CSE and CPSE meetingsProvide professional development in areas such as co-teaching, differentiation, IEP writing, etc. Attend SEPTA meetings and present district updatesPlan and oversee the Bethpage Extended School Year programCollaborate with building Principals on scheduling Collaborate with District Directors on content area curriculumCreate new and exciting opportunities for our students!
