The Bay Shore Union Free School District , an equal opportunity employer, anticipates the following 12-month administrative vacancy for the 2026-2027 school year: Assistant Principal This role assists the Principal in providing leadership, direction, and support in the following areas: RESPONSIBILITIES: Instructional Leadership: Support the implementation of Next Generation Learning Standards and observe/evaluate staff to enhance instructional quality. Student Support and Engagement: Facilitate a positive school climate, manage student behavior, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure positive student engagement. Operations and Scheduling: Assist in the development of building schedules and student assessments to optimize learning environments. Professional Development: Identify and coordinate professional development opportunities for faculty and staff to support the District’s mission. Community Relations: Act as a liaison between the school and the community, fostering strong relationships with families and stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS: Certification: New York State certification as a School Building Leader (SBL ) or School District Leader (SDL). Experience: Five (5) or more years of successful teaching or administrative experience. Knowledge: Strong understanding of Next Generation Learning Standards and proven leadership ability in a school setting. Advocacy: A deep commitment to the success of all students and a robust understanding of diverse learner needs. Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with the Bay Shore Administrators Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.
