Please visit www.bayshoreschools.org for more information about our exceptional school community.Position Summary:The Middle School Assistant Principal is a key instructional leader who works collaboratively with the Principal to create and maintain a positive, safe, and effective learning environment for all students. The Assistant Principal plays a vital role in supporting the implementation of school-wide initiatives, managing student behavior, supervising staff, and fostering strong relationships with students, parents, and the community.Responsibilities:Instructional Leadership:Assist the Principal in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school's educational programs.Support teachers in the implementation of effective instructional strategies and best practices.Analyze student data to inform instructional decisions and monitor student progress.Promote a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.Assist with the implementation of Response to Intervention (RTI) programs.Student Support and Behavior Management:Supervise and manage student behavior in accordance with district policies and procedures.Work with students, parents, and staff to address student needs and resolve conflicts.Promote a positive and respectful school climate.Staff Supervision and Evaluation:Supervise and evaluate assigned staff, providing feedback and support for professional growth.Assist in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of new staff members.Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.Conduct classroom observations.School Operations and Management:Assist the Principal in the day-to-day administration of the school.Organize building-wide testing schedules and/or building scheduleOversee student attendance, discipline, and safety procedures.Manage school facilities and resources effectively.Coordinate school events and activities.Communication and Community Engagement:Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community.Build strong relationships with families and community stakeholders.Represent the school at district and at school and community events.Qualifications:New York State Certification as a School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS), School District Administrator (SDA), or School Building Leader (SBL).Master's degree in education or a related field.Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.Demonstrated leadership experience in a school setting.Strong knowledge of middle school curriculum, instruction, and student development.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals.Commitment to the mission, vision, and goals of the Bay Shore School District.Preferred Qualifications:Experience as an Assistant Principal or in a similar administrative role.Experience with data-driven decision making.Application Process:To Apply:Interested candidates are invited to submit a letter of interest, resume, copies of certifications, and three professional references to Kristina M.
