Job Description:We are seeking two highly motivated and dedicated Library Media Specialists to join our team. As a Library Media Specialist, you will play a crucial role in promoting literacy, information literacy, and research skills among students and staff. You will collaborate with teachers to integrate technology and digital resources into the curriculum, provide guidance on research strategies, and foster a love of reading and lifelong learning.Responsibilities:Manage the school library/media center and develop a welcoming and engaging environment for students and staff.Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement strategies for integrating technology and digital resources into the curriculum.Instruct students on information literacy skills, including research strategies, evaluating sources, and effective use of technology for learning.Foster a love of reading and promote literacy by organizing and promoting reading programs, book clubs, and author visits.Select and acquire print and digital resources that align with the curriculum and meet the needs and interests of students and staff.Maintain the library collection, including cataloging, shelving, and inventory management.Provide guidance and support to students and staff in locating and utilizing library resources effectively.Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in library science, technology integration, and educational technology.Collaborate with other library media specialists and professionals in the field to share ideas and resources.Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the professional growth of colleagues.Qualifications:Master's degree in Library Science or related field.Valid state certification or licensure as a Library Media Specialist.Strong knowledge of library science principles, including cataloging, classification, and collection management.Strong knowledge of current educational technology tools and resources.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and students.Strong organizational and time management skills.Passion for promoting literacy and lifelong learning.Commitment to staying current with developments in library science and educational technology.Exceptionally qualified candidates should apply through OLAS to Kristina M.
