Job Description: Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach The Bronxville School District is seeking a visionary, community-oriented Head Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach. This role is more than a sideline position; it is a leadership mandate to cultivate a comprehensive K-12 basketball ecosystem. The successful candidate will be the architect of a unified program culture that bridges the gap between our youngest athletes and our elite competitors. Core Mission To lead, inspire, and manage the Bronxville Girls Basketball program in a manner that achieves competitive excellence while embodying the Bronxville Promise: fostering students who are innovative, collaborative, and engaged citizens. Key Responsibilities & Leadership Scope 1. Program Alignment & Vertical Integration Tactical Blueprint: Develop and implement a "Bronxville System" (common terminology, offensive sets, and defensive principles) that is utilized across the Varsity, JV, and Modified levels. Coaching Mentorship: Actively supervise and mentor JV and Modified coaching staff to ensure player development goals are met at every stage of the pipeline. Transition Management: Oversee the progression of athletes from the Modified level to High School, ensuring a cohesive experience and consistent expectations. 2. Youth Association Liaison (BYBA) Community Bridge: Serve as the primary point of contact and professional advisor to the newly formed Bronxville Youth Basketball Association (BYBA). Curriculum Design: Collaborate with BYBA leadership to align youth clinics and league play with the high school program’s long-term vision. Presence & Engagement: Maintain a visible presence at youth events to build excitement and momentum among future Broncos. 3. Culture & Character Building The Bronxville Promise: Integrate the school’s core values into daily practice. The coach must model integrity, resilience, and high-level communication. Student-Athlete Development: Prioritize academic excellence and holistic well-being. Build a culture where players feel seen, challenged, and supported. Community Connection: Understand and navigate the unique dynamics of the Bronxville community while maintaining professional, transparent relationships with parents and stakeholders. 4. Administrative & Technical Oversight Strategic Planning: Organize year-round opportunities for growth, including summer leagues, open gyms, and skill-building camps. Compliance: Ensure all aspects of the program adhere to Section 1 and NYSPHSAA regulations. Evaluation: Conduct end-of-season reviews for all program levels and provide constructive feedback for student-athlete improvement. Qualifications Experience: Proven track record of successful coaching (High School Varsity or Collegiate level preferred). Certification: Current NYS Coaching Certification (or eligibility to obtain), including First Aid/CPR/AED and Concussion Certification. Leadership Style: A "program-builder" mindset with the ability to inspire buy-in from various age groups. Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate a clear vision.
