Position: Modified Girls Soccer Coach (Grades 7 & 8)Location: Bronxville School DistrictSeason: Fall Sports SeasonPosition Overview:The Modified Girls Soccer Coach is responsible for the development, instruction, and supervision of the 7th and 8th-grade girls' soccer team. This role focuses on teaching fundamental soccer skills, promoting teamwork, fostering sportsmanship, and creating a positive and safe environment for student-athletes. The coach will work closely with the varsity coach to ensure the program aligns with district policies and the overall philosophy of the athletic program.Responsibilities:Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices focusing on skill development, conditioning, and game strategies appropriate for middle school athletes.Teach and reinforce the rules, fundamentals, and strategies of soccer in a developmentally appropriate manner.Promote positive sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork among athletes.Supervise athletes at all times during practices, games, and team-related activities.Communicate effectively with athletes, parents/guardians, school staff, and the Athletic Department.Manage and maintain soccer equipment and uniforms.Model professional behavior and serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.Qualifications:Previous coaching experience in soccer, preferably at the middle school or high school level.Knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and strategies.Ability to teach and connect with student-athletes of varying skill levels.Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or willingness to obtain before season start).Fingerprint clearance and compliance with all state and district coaching requirements.Work Schedule:Practices and games are typically held after school on weekdays.Compensation:Per district athletic contract/BOE-approved stipend.
