BRENTWOOD UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT BRENTWOOD, NY 11717 The Brentwood Union Free School District, New York’s largest suburban school district, announces the following vacancy for an articulate, analytical, dedicated, progressive, and creative educations leader: Permanent Substitute Teacher — Students with Disabilities (All Grades) / SWD Mathematics, SWD General Science, SWD Social Studies, or SWD English Language Arts, Grades 7–12 Qualifications: NYS certification in Students with Disabilities, Grades 7–12 or All Grades NYS certification in Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies, or English Language Arts, Grades 7–12 TESOL certification preferred Responsibilities: Serves as IEP case manager for assigned students, ensuring timely development, implementation, progress monitoring, and annual review of IEPs in accordance with federal, state, and district regulations Designs and delivers specially designed instruction aligned with IEP goals, grade-level standards, and students' unique learning needs, including accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology as appropriate Instructs students clearly and engagingly in the assigned content area and prepares lesson plans that incorporate the curriculum and ensure students achieve learning outcomes Designs lessons that provide regular opportunities for problem-solving, creativity, and communication in relation to authentic, real-world problems Establishes and maintains standards for behavior that foster student self-discipline and positive relationships among students Develops, administers, and evaluates quality formative and summative assessments that reflect a balance of content knowledge and problem-solving skills Monitors student performance and adjusts instructional strategies to improve content delivery Maintains appropriate documentation of student assessment Communicates regularly with parents and guardians Enthusiastic, Bilingual and Diverse Candidates Encouraged to Apply Interested Applicants Please Submit Job Specific Cover Letter and Resume to: OLAS https://olasjobs.org/ Closing Date for Applications: 12:00 p.m. September 11, 2026 Resumes are carefully reviewed and those candidates whose qualifications are commensurate with our needs will be contacted for an interview.
