The Brentwood Union Free School District, New York’s largest suburban school district, announces the following vacancy for an articulate, analytical, dedicated, progressive, and creative educational leader: Music Elementary General Music/Choral Teacher Secondary Orchestra Teacher Secondary Band Teacher (Full Year Leave Replacement) Qualifications: Must hold NYS Music K - 12 Certification Successful public school teaching experience preferred in one or more of the areas above Responsibilities: Design and deliver engaging, New York State Music Standards-aligned music instruction to a diverse student population with varying interests, abilities, and cultural backgrounds. Monitor and assess student progress to inform and adjust instructional strategies for effective content delivery. Foster student participation and prepare students for performances and school/community events. Facilitate and lead meaningful classroom discussions that promote musical understanding and critical thinking. Maintain and manage inventory of music instruments and equipment. Demonstrate strong collaboration with department members and building-wide staff to support student success and program goals.
