BRENTWOOD UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT BRENTWOOD, NY 11717 The Brentwood Union Free School District, New York’s largest suburban school district, announces the following vacancy for an articulate, analytical, dedicated, progressive, and creative educational leader: Assistant Coordinator of Health, Recreation, K-12 Physical Education & Athletics (12-month work year) Reports to: Coordinator/Director of Health, PE & Athletics Qualifications: Must hold NYS Physical Education Certification Minimum of 5 years of successful public-school teaching Physical Education and/or Health; Coaching experience Must hold appropriate NYS certification as a School Building Leader/School District Leader, or be eligible (SDA or SDL) CPR/AED/First Aid Certified preferred Responsibilities: Assist in supervision of K-12 Health and Physical Education staff, coaches, and advisors Support implementation of K-12 physical education and health programs Assist in the daily operations of district athletic programs, including supervision of the high school pool and management of equipment and inventory. Ensure safety protocols and eligibility procedures are followed Assist with scheduling, transportation, facilities, and game management Serve as liaison with Section XI and other organizations Assist in budget monitoring and expenditure Support hiring and evaluation of staff Maintain communication with students, staff, and community Graduation Pathways & Career Readiness : Support initiatives aligned with Graduation Pathways, including Career and Technical Education (CTE) connections within athletics and physical education Assist in developing opportunities for student-athletes to explore careers in sports management, health sciences, fitness, coaching, and related fields Collaborate with school counselors and staff to promote college and career readiness through athletics, physical education, and health Support internships, mentorships, and experiential learning opportunities connected to athletics and wellness Enthusiastic, Bilingual and Diverse Candidates Encouraged to Apply Interested Applicants Please Submit Job Specific Cover Letter and Resume to: OLAS https://olasjobs.org/ Closing Date for Applications: May 22, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Resumes are carefully reviewed, and those candidates whose qualifications are commensurate with our needs will be contacted for an interview.
