Elementary Assistant Principal(10.25-month work year)Job Summary:Collaborate with the principal, staff, and families to cultivate a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes high expectations for all students. Support the implementation of the school’s instructional program and assist in the supervision and evaluation of staff, management of building operations, and coordination of student supports. Reports to: Elementary School Principal Minimum Requirements:Ö Must hold appropriate NYS Administrative Certification.Ö Minimum of 5 years total of successful public-school teaching experience. Additional requirements include, but are not limited to: Assist the building principal in providing educational leadership through supervision of the instructional program, promotion of effective teaching practices, and guidance for instructional support staff to meet the diverse needs of all students.Foster continuous professional growth by conducting formal and informal classroom observations, facilitating relevant professional development, and identifying instructional resources to enhance teaching and learning.Guide teachers in aligning their instructional practices and curricular units with the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards.Support the implementation of a robust Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework to ensure that academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions are equitable, data-driven, and responsive to student needs.Promote the holistic development of every student by cultivating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school climate rooted in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).Strengthen family and community engagement by developing systems that promote transparent communication, partnership, and collaboration between home and school.Participate in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of school-wide data to drive decision-making, support continuous improvement, and align with district and state accountability expectations.Demonstrate culturally responsive and equity-focused leadership practices to ensure all students feel valued, seen, and supported in achieving their full potential.Foster positive public relations through respectful, solution-oriented communication with students, staff, families, and community members.Collaborate with the principal to align all aspects of school operations into a cohesive, student-centered learning environment that reflects shared goals and a commitment to excellence.
