Assistant Coordinator(11-month work year) Job Summary:A staff position directly responsible to the Assistant Superintendent of Special Services Minimum Requirements:Must hold appropriate NYS administrative certification (SDA/SDL)A minimum of 5 years successful experience providing Special Education or related servicesMaster’s degree in a Special Service Area.Familiarity with the Cleartrack databaseExperience with Scheduling. Job Responsibilities:Establish and maintain departmental policies in alignment with State Education Department, District, and Office of Special Services guidelines.Promote positive public relations through daily communication with all stakeholders.Maintain professional excellence within the Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Assistive Technology (OT/PT/AT) department through direct case support, evaluation of progress reporting techniques, therapy observations, and program reviews.Assist in the recruitment, selection, supervision, training, and evaluation of OT/PT providers.Develop and deliver professional development for departmental staffCoordinate and host staff meetingsChair District-level Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings.Participate in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget.Ensure compliance with Part 200 Regulations.Coordinate Assistive Technology (AT) evaluations, including obtaining consent, scheduling, reporting, and parent communication.Troubleshoot AT equipment issues and coordinate repairs or replacements.Configure iPads and applications for AAC, Angel Sense, and other technologies.Manage AT subscriptions Obtain quotes and research new technologies to support students' unique needs.Process non-CSE amendment meetings.Oversee implementation of 504 Accommodation Plans.Assign and oversee agency providersAssist with Medicaid compliance and quality assurance.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Special Services.Diverse and/or Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
