Assistant to the Coordinator of Performing Arts, Music & Art(11-month work year) Job Summary:The Assistant to the Coordinator of Performing Arts, Music, and Art will support the Coordinator in overseeing and implementing high-quality programs in music, fine arts, and performing arts. This role will also play a key part in the development and management of the District’s radio station and podcasting classes, providing students with opportunities to explore media arts, broadcasting, and digital storytelling. Reports to: Coordinator of Performing Arts, Music, and Art Minimum Requirements:Must hold appropriate NYS Administrative Certification (SDA or SDL) Must hold NYS Certification in Music, Art, or a related fieldStrong background in performing arts, visual arts, music education, or media artsExperience with media production, broadcasting, podcasting, or audio editing software Additional requirements, skill & competencies include, but are not limited to: Curriculum and Development: Assisting in the development and implementation of a district-wide arts curriculum, including integration of media arts, music, and fine arts into both classroom and after-school programs. Experience in curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation in the arts or media arts preferred.Instructional Support: Conducting teacher observations and providing professional development to enhance instructional effectiveness across music, arts, and media program.Media Arts Integration: Supporting the integration of media arts—including podcasting, radio broadcasting, digital filmmaking, and TV production—into student learning experiences, curriculum, and extracurricular programsCommunity Engagement & Events: Supporting district-wide performances, exhibitions, and community engagement initiatives to promote and sustain arts education.Collaboration & Coordination: Collaborating with principals and other administrators, teachers, and community partners to enhance and integrate arts and media education programs.Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills to support multi-faceted programs.
