(1) Secondary School Assistant Principal (11 month work year) Job Summary: Work with the school’s principal, teachers and parents to maintain a positive learning environment which fosters high expectations for all students and staff. Assist with the implementation of the school’s instructional program, supervision and evaluation of staff, building operations and student management. Reports to: Secondary School Principal Minimum Requirements: Must hold appropriate NYS administrative certificationMinimum of 5 years total of successful public school teaching experience Additional requirements include, but are not limited to: Outstanding demonstrated leadership abilityDemonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and a belief that all students can succeedKnowledge of Next Generation Learning Standards and other state and local standardsOutstanding verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise mannerKnowledge of DASA, VADIR and other compliance mandatesKnowledge of a variety of student management approaches and student support servicesAbility to work collaboratively with administrators, parents and community membersAbility to manage multiple tasks and execute projectsKnowledge of programming, staffing and assessment protocolsAbility to think strategically, analyze performance data and carry out school goalsAbility to make strategic organizational decisions to support the school’s goals, including the use of resources, space, technology, staff schedules and student programmingServes as administrative lead on My Brother’s Keeper High School ProgramDemonstrated ability to implement and successfully facilitate restorative justice practices amongst students and staff.
