Coordinator of Special Services-Elementary (11 months) Previous candidates do not need to reapply.Job Summary: The Coordinator of Special Services for Elementary will work closely with the Assistant Superintendent of Special Services, building administrators, and teachers to support and manage special education programs.Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Special ServicesMinimum Requirements:NYS Administrative Certification (SDA or SDL)At least 5 years of successful public-school teaching experience in Special EducationA minimum of 2 years of Administrator experience in Special EducationExperience as a CSE (Committee on Special Education) Chairperson, including leading out-of-district CSE committeesKey Responsibilities:In conjunction with the Assistant Superintendent, supervise and evaluate elementary special education teachers District wide. Develop and facilitate professional development opportunities and host monthly staff meetings.Collaborate with administrators to promote curriculum development.Foster positive public relations through daily interactions with stakeholdersEnsure the needs of all classified elementary students are met with appropriate services provided by qualified staff.Assist in recruiting, selecting, and recommending department personnel.Ensure compliance with Part 200 RegulationsOversee and assign psycho-educational evaluations.Place students in educational programs as outlined in their IEPs.Serve as a district-level CSE Chairperson and use office data collection software, CleartrackCoordinate placements and services for students in BOCES, private, and residential facilitiesMaintain effective communication with staff and families.Be familiar with NYSAA and Part 154Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Special ServicesTop of FormCompetitive Compensation Package commensurate with experience Diverse and/or Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
