Coordinator of Science and Technology K-12 (11-month work year)Reports to:Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education and the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education Minimum Requirements:Must hold appropriate NYS (New York State) Administrative Certification (SDA or SDL)MA degree with emphasis on Administration/Science, Technology and Science CurriculumA background including course work in Science/Technology and successful teaching in the Science/Technology area.Additional requirements, skill & competencies include, but are not limited to:Provide leadership and support to school administrators and educators in the implementation of research-based instructional practices in science and technology education.Participate in curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation of the K-12 science and digital fluency standards.Assist principals in supervising and guiding technology teachers.Lead the creation and integration of CTE pathways in science and technology education, providing teachers and students with the knowledge and skills required for successful careers in related fields. Ensure alignment of science curriculum with state standards and educational best practices.Oversee the selection, implementation, and evaluation of instructional technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning.Coordinate professional development opportunities for district staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in science education, research methodologies, and technology integration.Manage science and technology instructional budgets, science grants, and resources allocated for science, research, and technology initiatives.Collaborate with community partners, universities, and research institutions to support district-wide research projects and initiatives.Participate and oversee the administration, analysis, and evaluation of standardized and mandated statewide and local proficiency testing in science assessment/projects. Plan and execute elementary and secondary District STEM exhibitions.Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
