Brunswick CSD is currently seeking a Provisional Network Administrator. This is a 12 month position.Description: Maintain all information and printing Maintain all information and printing services to all departments, including administrative and instructional programs, internet and e-mail access, database and shared files; Providing and maintain security within the network; Provide and assist in staff training; Maintain all records of network configuration; Provide technical assistance to staff; Perform all service pack updates as required; Perform on-call services with Internet Service Provider to correct Internet connection problems; Perform hardware repair and coordinate outside vendor repair and service; Monitor all connections between buildings and monitor firewall; Maintain user database, control security and access to network; Update and maintain anti-virus software; Perform system backup on regular schedule to all departments; Maintain database for all e-mail users; Install and configure all new hardware and software; Coordinate with vendors for installation and configuration of new products; Recommend purchase of hardware and software; Provide support for Network-based software; handling of all Data Protection Officer (DPO) duties.Knowledge, Skills and abilities: Good knowledge of use and operation of computer and server hardware and software, including management of local area networks; good knowledge of design of current computer systems; ability to make repairs to computer equipment; ability to install and use purchased software applications.Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of computer equipment which shall have involved the installation, maintenance and use of operating systems and software; OR Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two (2) year college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information System, Computer Technology or closely related field; OR Graduation from a Technical School or Trade School which grants a certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Technology or Management Information System or closely related field.SALARY: $82,000+ dependent upon experienceSTART DATE: 12/1/25 (Flexible)APPLICATION DUE BY: 10/17/2025Applicants MUST register for Rensselaer County Civil Service Exam when posted, pass the exam and score within the top three.Applicants, please send letter of interest, resume and completed District and Civil Service applicationsto:Stephanie Steinhart, Assistant Superintendent for BusinessBrunswick Central School3992 NY 2Troy, NY 12180518-279-4600, ext. 2604, sfanning@brunswickcsd.orgApplications can be found on our website under “Employment”.Brunswick Central School is an equal opportunity employer.
