Brunswick CSD is seeking and individual for Supervisor of Transportation and Maintenance.Minimum qualifications should include: Graduation from high school and either three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity OR five years of experience in the operation of multi-passenger vehicles or the dispatching of motor equipment. Also MUST be eligible for an appropriate class driver's license issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles at the time of application. Possession of the license at the time of appointment and must maintain the license throughout the term of employment.Description: Establishes routes to be followed by various drivers; prepares time schedules for buses; supervises service, maintenance, repair and upkeep of all school district vehicles and school district buildings and grounds; writes specifications for all new vehicles; approves all purchases of parts and materials; prepares tentative budget estimates for building maintenance and custodial activities; maintains records and prepares reports on building maintenance and transportation activities; receives and attempts to settle grievances and personnel problems of subordinate employees; assigns employees to various cleaning and maintenance tasks and establishes schedules of work; inspects painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical and other mechanical maintenance and constructive work performed by custodial or maintenance employees or private contractors; orders and accounts for parts and supplies for transportation and maintenance.Applicants must register for Rensselaer Count Civil Service Exam when posted, pass the exam and score within the top three (3).
