Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Superintendent or his/her designee this position promotes the use of technologies tosupport student achievement in the K-12 classrooms. This includes providing leadership, staff development,and instructional support to all instructional and administrative staff.In addition, this position: serves as a liaison between school and district technology initiatives and school based implementationand support for administrators and teachers.develops and offers district wide instructional technology education for teachers and administrativestaff.assists in the development and implementation of curriculum and technology integration projects.provides instructional staff with the essential support needed to complete technology-basedinstructional management and productivity functions, including classroom support through modeling oflessons.collaborates with appropriate instructional and technical staff to support, manage, optimize the use ofinstructional software, and network resources to support quality teaching and learning. This skilledprofessional works both independently and also collaboratively with colleagues.Qualifications1. Holds a Bachelor's degree in education and holds a current New York State teaching certificate.2. Graduate Degree or other advanced education in Instructional and/or Assistive Technologypreferred.3. At least three years of successful full-time experience as a classroom teacher is preferred.4. Two years professional development experience educating teachers or other adults in theintegration of technology for instruction and productivity using all of the followingmodes: modeling, one-on-one, small group, or large group preferred.5. A minimum of two years’ experience delivering and integrating technology ininstructional programs for Pre K - 12 students preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities1. Demonstrate ability to design and deliver technology-enhanced instruction.Key Duties and Responsibilities1. Collaborates with teachers in composing effective technology-infused, content-based lessons, andsupports the teachers as they implement the lessons in their classrooms.2. Promotes model instructional practices and the role of technology in them.3. Articulates appropriate instructional technology practices as described in technology standards forstudents and teachers.4. Provides assistance and training to building instructional staff in the integration of technology tosupport student achievement. This includes planning and implementing job-embedded professionaldevelopment and workshops for individuals, small groups, and large groups.5. Collaborates in the evaluation, selection and implementation of instructional technologymaterials and software.6. Assists with technology training as part of collaborative school district staff development initiativesand supports regional and statewide initiatives such as ESSA and the Technology Standards forteachers and students.7. Works with curriculum staff to develop and implement technology enhanced curriculumintegration projects.8. Provides leadership in developing and implementing technology plans and serves on the districttechnology committee (s).9. Collaborates with School Administrators, Library Media Specialists, and staff to ensureinfrastructure and tools are available to carry out school and technology initiatives.10. Attend District Technology Committee Meetings11. Conducts research about advancements in technology tools and resources to inform decisionmaking.12. Gathers and disseminates information (e.g., grants, policies, professional developmentopportunities) relevant to instructional technology.13. Participate in revisions, up-dates and implementation of district technology plan14. Coordinates technology related grant projects, community outreach projects and fundraisers.15. Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintainingexpertise in the field.16. Participates in required workshops and meetings.17. Conducts staff development and supports community awareness initiatives.18. Performs other duties as assigned.Certification(s)Math, Science or Technology certification. NYS preferred.
