Also, this position will serve as the District Clerk working on behalf of the Board of Education. Job Responsibilities:Acts as a primary point of contact for all staff and community members, managing calls, emails, and other forms of communication. Relieves the chief school officer of non-essential details by handling administrative tasks independently. Coordinates appointments and meetings, preparing necessary materials to facilitate efficient proceedings. Assists in the preparation of various documents, including communications, budgets, resolutions, and reports. Supervises and maintains both general and confidential files, ensuring organized record-keeping. Manages the chief school officer's email and calendar to optimize scheduling and task prioritization. Provides support for the transcription of important and confidential dictations or notes as needed. Other related work as needed and/or required under the direction of the Superintendent. Serve as District Clerk serving as liaison for the Board of Education Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes: Ability to comprehend and execute complex oral and written instructions; Proficient in handling administrative details independently; Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with others; Proven capability to establish and maintain positive public relations; Demonstrates accuracy, resourcefulness, and initiative in daily tasks; Maintains a neat personal appearance with physical condition suitable for the position; Proficiency in technology systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Office, Notebook, Excel, Teams; Apple products; and nVision.Suggested Acceptable Training and Experience: Graduation from high school and either: (a) completion of a two year post high school business or secretarial course and four years of office/clerical experience which involved the use of computers to maintain records or produce correspondence or spreadsheets; or (b) six years of office/clerical experience which involved the use of computers to maintain records or produce correspondence or spreadsheets; or (c) a satisfactory equivalent combination of the foregoing training and experience.The Briarcliff Manor School District has embarked on a journey to foster a more inclusive and equitable organization.
