The Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the Athletic Director/School Medical Director and is responsible for the care of students competing in the school’s athletic programs. The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries with the school’s comprehensive Sport Medicine Program. Specific duties and responsibilities include prevention, evaluation, and treatment of athletic injuries and illnesses, maintaining a clean training facility and equipment, ordering and maintaining athletic training supplies, and ImPACT testing & tracking for all student-athletes. Administrative duties include recordkeeping and documentation, working with the district physician and school nurse to deliver care to student athletes, working with the athletic department involving Family ID registration and other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. This position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in athletic training/sports medicine, prior experience as a secondary school athletic trainer is preferred. They must be certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification. They must hold a NYS athletic training license, certification in CPR/AED/First Aid and a commitment to the mission of the school district, and maintain a punctual and regular work schedule.
