Job Posting: Anticipated Elementary Teacher (PreK–6) Position Title: Elementary Classroom Teacher (Anticipated) Location: Brookfield Central School District, Brookfield, NY Appointment: Full-Time, 10-Month Position Start Date: September 1, 2026 Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience, per the Brookfield CSD Teachers’ Association Contract Position Overview • Brookfield Central School District is seeking a highly motivated, reflective, and student-centered educator for an anticipated Elementary Teacher position serving grades PreK–6. • Brookfield CSD is a New York State Plan-Pilot School committed to innovative, performance-based learning experiences that connect academic content to real-world application. • The successful candidate will demonstrate strong instructional practices, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues. • This position plays a critical role in supporting the district’s mission of preparing students for success through engaging, authentic learning experiences. Primary Responsibilities • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, standards-based instruction aligned to the New York State Learning Standards • Design and implement differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners • Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and well-being • Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administration to support student success • Participate in grade-level and district professional learning opportunities • Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress • Integrate technology and innovative instructional strategies into classroom practice • Support the district’s Portrait of a Graduate competencies, including critical thinking, collaboration, and communication Required Qualifications • Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Elementary Education (Birth–Grade 6 or equivalent) • Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment Preferred Qualifications • Experience with performance-based or project-based learning • Familiarity with MTSS/RTI frameworks and intervention supports • Experience integrating instructional technology to enhance learning • Strong background in literacy and numeracy instruction • Experience in a rural or small school district setting About Brookfield Central School District • Brookfield Central School District is a small, rural district committed to academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement. • As a NYSED Plan-Pilot school, Brookfield emphasizes authentic, performance-based learning experiences that prepare students for life beyond graduation. • The district values strong relationships, collaboration, and a supportive learning environment for both students and staff. • Brookfield is dedicated to continuous improvement and providing opportunities that promote student success and well-being.
