Brookfield Central School District Job Posting: Agriculture Teacher / FFA Advisor Location: Brookfield Central School District, Brookfield, NY Appointment: Full-Time, 10-Month Position Start Date: September 2026 Salary: Per the Brookfield CSD Teachers’ Association Contract Position Overview Brookfield Central School District is seeking a dedicated Agriculture Teacher to develop and lead an engaging agricultural education program beginning in September 2026. Brookfield CSD is a New York State Plan-Pilot school, committed to innovative learning experiences that connect academic content to real-world application. The successful candidate will help expand the district’s agriculture program while supporting hands-on learning opportunities aligned with Brookfield’s Plan-Pilot initiatives. The Agriculture Teacher will also serve as FFA Advisor, providing leadership opportunities for students and supporting participation in agricultural competitions, community service, and career development events. Depending on district needs and candidate certification, the selected individual may also teach middle school science (grades 7–8). Responsibilities The Agriculture Teacher will: • Develop and teach agriculture-related courses that may include plant science, animal science, environmental science, and agricultural systems • Provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences that connect agriculture, science, and real-world applications • Serve as FFA Advisor, supporting student leadership, competitions, and activities • Support experiential learning opportunities such as agricultural projects, school-based initiatives, and community partnerships • Collaborate with faculty and administration to support student success and innovative instructional practices • Participate in school and district initiatives aligned with Brookfield’s Plan-Pilot program • Potentially teach middle school science courses (Grades 7–8) depending on certification and scheduling needs Qualifications • Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Agriculture (All Grades) preferred • Candidates holding Biology (7–12) or General Science (7–12) certification with agricultural background may also be considered • Interest or experience in agricultural education and FFA programs preferred • Strong instructional, organizational, and classroom management skills • Ability to develop engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students Application Process Interested candidates should apply through OLAS and submit the following: • Letter of interest • Resume • NYS Certification documentation • Transcripts • Three professional references Brookfield Central School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
