The Brewster Central School District is seeking to fill several building substitute positions for the 2023-2024 school year. Building substitutes are assigned to report four days per week in one of the District’s four buildings. All certification areas are encouraged to apply. Under the provisions of the New York State Education Department, “substitutes without a valid certificate, but who are completing collegiate study toward certification at the rate of not less than six semester hours per year, (8 CRR-NY 80-5.4, NY-CRR) ” may substitute beyond the 40 day threshold required for non-certificated substitutes. Appointed substitutes will be scheduled up to four days per week in a building that reflects the age level where they are securing their certification. Additionally, each appointed substitute will receive the following:A regularly defined schedule. A commitment that should any posted vacancy be in the certification area of the substitute, a committee interview will be granted. Per diem rate of $125 as established in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Qualifications - NYSED Fingerprinting and Bachelors Degree are required ~ Spanish Bilingual candidates and candidates possessing NYS Certification are encouraged to apply.
