Job DescriptionThe Bellmore-Merrick CHSD is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Earth & Space Science teacher to serve as a leave replacement. The successful candidate will join a supportive science department and teach a full program that includes both general education and Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classes.General ResponsibilitiesTeach Earth & Space Science courses aligned with New York State Learning Standards along with an elective science course.Provide instruction in both general education and ICT settings in collaboration with a special education co-teacher.Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons that support student learning and inquiry.Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.Implement accommodations and modifications for students with IEPs in ICT classes.Assess and document student progress; communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.Participate in department meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.Job QualificationsValid New York State Certification in Earth Science (7–12) required.Experience with ICT or co-teaching models preferred.Strong content knowledge and ability to differentiate instruction.Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
