Ballston Spa High School has a vacancy for a long term substitute Special Education Teacher. Students in the Behavior Strategies classroom require varying levels of behavioral and social-emotional support. Some students require program support for the full day, while the program is a home-base for others who participate in mainstream classes. Due to the structure of the program, collaboration and communication with general education teachers, teaching assistants, aides, administration and social workers are necessary. A solid understanding of Behavior Support Plans, Functional Behavioral Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans, and Individual Crisis Management Plans is required. Experience working with students with Autism and varying instructional technology tools is necessary. 9/1/23-12/22/23 Minimum Qualifications: NYS Certification: Special Education; Permanent/Limited Extension in ELA, Math, Science and/or Social Studies Special Class PreferredSalary: per BSTA contractPlease Upload: Letter of Interest, Updated Resume, Certification, Transcripts, and two (2) Letters of Reference.
