Salary commensurate upon experience. $50,000+ Approximate Starting Date 9/9/26 RESPONSIBILITIES: (Illustrative Only) Possess thorough knowledge of standard/diesel automotive repair methods, tools and terminology; ability to make repairs to heavy automotive and mechanical equipment; ability to perform NYSDOT mandated PM inspections on school buses; Possession of or ability to obtain a CDL-B license with a P and S endorsement and be able to pass DOT physical. Must have tools necessary to perform repairs on diesel and gasoline powered engines. Will operate a school bus as a substitute school bus driver when needed. Candidates should have good motor and hand/eye coordination and be in good physical condition. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (A) An Associate degree in auto or diesel mechanics or similar field from an accredited college and one (1) year of experience as an auto or diesel mechanic; OR (B) Completion of a one (1) year certification or BOCES type program in automotive repair and two (2) years of experience as an auto or diesel mechanic; OR (C) A High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) years experience as an auto or diesel mechanic.
