Distinguishing Features of the Class: This is skilled work involving responsibility for the completeoverhaul, maintenance, and repair of the district fleet. The work requires a thorough knowledge of thetrade.Minimum Qualification: Two (2) years of experience in automotive work performing repair andmaintenance of automotive equipment. Note: Automotive equipment shall include vehicles that are registered and licensed for theroads. Note: Training in automotive repair may be credited for up to one (1) year of the requiredexperience. Special Requirements: If operating motor equipment, must possess appropriate New YorkState Driver’s License at time of appointment.Special Requirement for Positions in School Districts: If the position involves the operation of aschool bus; then the following special requirement applies: Eligibility for an appropriate level NewYork State Driver’s License at time of application. Possession of license at time of appointment.Drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
