The Bedford Central School District is seeking a Supervisor for Secondary Special Education and PPS effective July 1, 2026 11 Month Position, Member of the Bedford Association of Supervisors and Administrators (BASA) Responsibilities Include: Assists in designing, implementing, and evaluating special education programs and services in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations. Ensures that Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are developed and implemented to address students’ educational, social, and behavioral needs. Serves as chairperson for all Initial Eligibility meetings. Promotes and supports inclusive education initiatives to ensure students with disabilities have access to the general education curriculum and extracurricular activities. Provides guidance to special education staff and school administrators on best practices and program effectiveness. Collaborates with Principals to evaluate Special Education Teachers and Teaching Assistants. Monitors compliance with federal, state, and local special education laws and regulations, including required timelines for evaluations, IEP development, and service delivery. Conducts regular audits of student records to ensure adherence to legal requirements and addresses any compliance concerns. Works closely with special education staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting of student progress and service delivery. Contributes to the special education budget development process, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to meet program needs. Monitors expenditures related to special education personnel, instructional materials, and contracted services to maintain fiscal responsibility. Ensures equitable distribution of resources across the district to support students with disabilities. Facilitates parent meetings, workshops, and informational sessions to help families understand the special education process and their rights. Attends monthly ConnectEd meetings to support parent engagement and communication. Monitors Individualized Education Services Plans (IESPs) for students attending non-district schools. Plan and provide monthly department meetings for staff. Coordinate and Supervise summer programming Requirements: NYSED School District Leader Certification required. Prior experience in PPS and/or Special Education required. Candidates should apply on OLAS by June 12, 2026.
