The Bedford Central School District is seeking a Bilingual Social Worker for Fox Lane Middle School Commencing with the 2026-2027 school year . Job Description: The goal of the school Social Worker is to help provide the best educational experience for all children by using social work methods and techniques to enable students and their families to identify and effectively deal with academic and behavioral problems. The school Social Worker addresses the interaction of the child with the school, home, peers, and community. This position reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Special Education & PPS. Works with CSE and MTSS Committees to identify needs and collaborate to develop interventions and support for students. Evaluates gaps in service and work to develop alternatives to fill gaps. Provides short term individual or group counseling arising from particular needs of the population and directly impacting a student’s academic performance (socialization groups, divorce groups, death of a close family member, dealing with alcohol/substance abuse of a family member or self, etc.) May counsel parents around issues affecting their child’s school progress (homework strategies, discipline, school attendance, medical or mental health referrals to services in the community). Consults with teachers in support of inclusion, student academic performance and wellbeing. Conducts at home visits to strengthen home/school communication and relationships in support of student performance and attendance. Certification/License: NYSED School Social Worker Certificate, and Bilingual (Spanish) Extension Required. Candidates should apply on OLAS by June 8, 2026. Please, no email inquiries.
