K-12 Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator Anticipated start date: July 1, 2026 Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Job Description: The K-12 Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator is a strategic teacher leadership role within the Bedford Central School District. The coordinator will lead the continuous development and implementation of the MTSS framework across all grades to promote student success and ensure all students receive necessary academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support. Key aspects of the role include overseeing MTSS structures, assessment, and technology integration; ensuring the successful implementation of MTSS teams and research-based interventions; and utilizing data from local and state assessments in collaboration with the Technology Department to improve student outcomes and graduation readiness. This work involves strategic planning, close partnership with district and building leadership around district and building implementation, collaboration with all stakeholders, data analysis, and professional development to create an inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: - MTSS Framework Implementation: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the MTSS framework across all district schools, ensuring alignment with state standards and best practices. Continue development and refinement of our districtwide MTSS handbook. - Data Analysis and Decision-Making: Facilitate the development of district and schoolwide protocols to analyze student data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, utilizing a data-driven approach to inform decision-making and intervention strategies. Work collaboratively with the Director of Technology to develop comprehensive structures that support a robust MTSS system for effective data collection and analysis. - Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively with principals to lead collaborative problem-solving teams comprised of educators, specialists, and support staff to develop and implement targeted interventions for students experiencing academic, behavioral, or social-emotional challenges. - Department Oversight: Lead the Tiered Support department, supervising interventionists and support staff to ensure consistency in Tier 1, 2, and 3 protocols in all buildings (K-12). - Technology Integration: Provide instructional leadership in the integration of technology tools and platforms to support curriculum, instruction, and the implications of generative AI on teaching and learning. - Program Coordination: Provide support to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction with coordination of proactive K-12 student support systems, including Pre-Kindergarten, AVID, WIN, Bridges, and other student support structures in collaboration with building principals. - Professional Development: Provide training and professional development opportunities for school staff on MTSS principles, assessment tools, evidence-based interventions, co-teaching strategies and differentiated instruction. Participate in Curriculum Council and help lead professional development on Superintendent Conference Days. - Progress Monitoring: Establish systems for ongoing progress monitoring and evaluation of intervention effectiveness, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure student success and equity. Oversee the K-12 RTI department. - Resource Coordination: Coordinate resources, including personnel, materials, and technology, to support the implementation of MTSS initiatives and maximize the impact of available resources. - Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to MTSS and maintain accurate records of student interventions, progress, and outcomes. Prepare reports and documentation as required by district administration and external stakeholders. - Professional Learning Communities: Foster a culture of collaboration and professional learning within schools by facilitating regular meetings, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Qualifications: Education and Certification: - Relevant NYS Certification: Elementary education, Secondary education, Literacy, Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or other related Certification - NYS Administrative Certification credentials preferred: SDA (School District Administrator) or SDL (School District Leader). Experience: - Minimum of 5 years of successful K-12 teaching or counseling experience. - Demonstrated experience in MTSS implementation and data-driven decision-making. - Experience leading change initiatives and working effectively with diverse stakeholders. Skills: - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. - Strong understanding of evidence-based practices and high quality instruction. - Strong understanding of data analysis, assessment practices, and evidence-based interventions. - Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing tiered support interventions. - Proficiency in educational technology and data management systems, including Student Information Systems (SIS), assessment platforms, and data visualization tools. Candidates should apply on OLAS by March 31, 2026. Salary commensurate upon experience but not less than $79,867 per year.
