Interim Director of Pupil Personnel ServicesThe Bedford Central School District is a diverse, high performing school district located in Westchester County, NY, serving approximately 3,800 students who reside in the towns of Bedford, Pound Ridge, Mount Kisco, and parts of New Castle and North Castle. Reporting to the Superintendent of Schools, the Director of PPS is responsible for the oversight of student and personnel services. The Director of PPS acts as a student advocate to ensure students’ rights are respected and that students have equitable access to educational opportunities. Additionally, the Director of PPS completes federal and state data reports following their guidelines. This position oversees the District’s Registrar, Attendance Officer, and School Nurses. The Director of PPS also serves as one of the district's two Title IX officers.Duration: Commencing July 1, 2025 through January 31, 2026 with the possibility of an extension through June 2026.Qualifications: New York State School District Administrator Certification or School District Leader Certification required. Experience as a PPS administrator preferred.Responsibilities: Promotes BCSD’s core values of placing students first in all instances, providing a physically and emotionally safe environment and respect for all studentsServes as the District’s Dignity for All School (DASA) and Title IX CoordinatorManages the district’s school registration process and addresses residency concerns,Oversees Non-Resident/Tuition StudentsOversees Homebound Instruction/Tutoring and HomeschoolingCollaborates with parents and all staff working with our students to ensure their success in schoolCollaborates with central office administrators, building principals and district directors to support all students and staffAddresses student disciplinary cases and provides any potential rehabilitative services necessaryPartners with the community agencies and school resources in matters impacting students such as substance abuse, homelessness, tutoring, and other servicesPossesses an advanced understanding of school/student crisis management and reportingEscalates matters to the Superintendent, agencies, and other school administrators in accordance with proceduresOversees McKinney-Vento requestsPartner with general education initiatives such as, Response to Intervention, mandated tutorial services, 504 accommodation plans, counseling services and enrichment, which offers tiered support services for studentsResponsible for oversight of CPS ReportingAssists with the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) programAnd other responsibilities assigned by the SuperintendentCandidates should apply on OLAS by May 30, 2025The Bedford Central School District does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
