VACANCY NOTICE The Bedford Central School District is seeking aFull-time Transition Specialist, 10 monthsSpecial EducationFox Lane High School for the 2024/2025 school yearApplicants are subject to Civil Service approval/exam for this title –School Transition Specialist and must hold permanent status in the title or be willing to accept a provisional appointment contingent on passing the School Transition Specialist exam. All candidates must meet the requirements listed below. Westchester County makes the determination of a candidate’s eligibility: MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor’s Degree* and five (5) years of experience where the primary function of the position was counseling or educating individuals with special needs or families with a special needs member. SUBSTITUTION 1: A Bachelor’s Degree* in Special Education, Social Work or a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required work experience. SUBSTITUTION 2: A Master’s Degree* in Special Education, Social Work or a closely related field may substitute for two (2) years of the required work experience.
