K-12 Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator Anticipated start date: July 1, 2024Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and InstructionJob Description: The Bedford Central School District is seeking a K-12 MTSS Coordinator who will play a vital role in promoting student success, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The MTSS Coordinator will lead the development and implementation of our Multi-Tiered System of Supports framework, collaborating with educators, administrators, families, and community partners to create a responsive and inclusive learning environment. The work will involve data analysis, strategic planning, professional development, and coordination of proactive structures as well as interventions to address the diverse needs of our students.Key Responsibilities: MTSS Framework Implementation: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the MTSS framework across all district schools, ensuring alignment with state standards and best practices. Data Analysis and Decision-Making: Analyze student data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, utilizing a data-driven approach to inform decision-making and intervention strategies. Work collaboratively with the Director of Technology to develop comprehensive structures that support a robust MTSS system for effective data collection and analysis. Collaborative Problem-Solving: Facilitate collaborative problem-solving teams comprised of educators, specialists, and support staff to develop and implement targeted interventions for students experiencing academic, behavioral, or social-emotional challenges. Professional Development: Provide training and professional development opportunities for school staff on MTSS principles, assessment tools, evidence-based interventions, co-teaching strategies and differentiated instruction. Participate in Curriculum Council and help lead professional development on Superintendent Conference Days. Family and Community Engagement: Foster partnerships with families, community organizations, and external agencies to enhance support services for students, promoting a holistic approach to student well-being. Progress Monitoring: Establish systems for ongoing progress monitoring and evaluation of intervention effectiveness, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure student success and equity. Oversee the K-12 RTI department. Resource Coordination: Coordinate resources, including personnel, materials, and technology, to support the implementation of MTSS initiatives and maximize the impact of available resources. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to MTSS and maintain accurate records of student interventions, progress, and outcomes. Prepare reports and documentation as required by district administration and external stakeholders. Professional Learning Communities: Foster a culture of collaboration and professional learning within schools by facilitating regular meetings, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Program Coordination: Provide support to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction with coordination of proactive K-12 student support systems, including Pre-Kindergarten, AVID, WIN, KIA, and other student support structures in collaboration with building principals.Qualifications: Valid K-12 teaching certifications in the areas of: elementary education, secondary education, literacy, special education, and/or education technology specialist Administrative credentials a plus Demonstrated experience in MTSS implementation or related educational leadership role. Strong understanding of data analysis, assessment practices, and evidence-based interventions. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Ability to lead change initiatives and work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing tiered support interventions and student support services. Proficiency in educational technology and data management systems.Candidates should apply on OLAS by May 16, 2024.Salary starting at $77,917.15 or higher commensurate with experience plus contractual Coordinator stipend.
