The Bedford Central School District is seeking a dynamic and visionary Principal forBedford Village Elementary SchoolTenure Track 11 Month Position – Beginning on July 1, 2024 The Bedford Central School District is a mid-sized, diverse, high-performing school district located in Westchester County, NY, serving approximately 4,000 students who reside in Bedford, Pound Ridge, Mount Kisco, and parts of New Castle and North Castle. Bedford Village Elementary School is one of the five Bedford Central School District elementary schools. It is in the heart of the historic town of Bedford and serves approximately 300 students. In addition to providing students with an educational experience that fosters a curiosity for learning, rigorous challenges, authentic problem-solving, and a skill set that will establish a solid foundation for future learning, teachers facilitate CARE meetings where students share concerns and offer solutions to promote a safe, secure learning community. Candidate Requirements:An accomplished instructional school leader who values and embraces diversity and is committed to language and cultural immersion education.An effective communicator and collaborator who can lead Bedford Village Elementary School’s engaged and nurturing faculty, staff, parents, and students in building a shared and inclusive vision.Ability to embrace and maintain a nurturing, warm, and caring family environment.A comprehensive understanding of New York State Learning Standards and elementary curriculum.Knowledge of and experience with the Science of Reading.Knowledge of various Special Education programs.Knowledgeable of and understanding elementary school-aged learners' academic, social, and emotional development.The capacity to promote and maintain a safe and supportive school environment that fosters students' social-emotional and academic development.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Expertise in supervision, curriculum development, and evaluation of staff and programs to improve instruction and learning.Experience in leading staff development and using data-driven leadership to inform instructional and programmatic changes. A process-oriented and inclusive problem solver who approaches all interactions with integrity and transparency.Partner with central administration, principals, and other pedagogical staff to align initiatives and instructional priorities. Qualifications:Valid New York State Administrative Certification (SBL, SAS, or SDA)At least 5 years of successful elementary teaching experience.At least 3 years of successful experience as a building administrator preferred.Experience with serving students with disabilities as a teacher or an administrator.Salary: As per the Agreement between the District Board of Education and the Administrators no less than $139,057.
