The Bedford Central School District is seeking aCommittee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) Coordinatorcommencing July of the 24/25 School Year. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following: Manages all aspects of CPSE process: process initial referrals, arrange evaluations, chair committee meetings, develop and write IEP, arrange for provision of services by appropriate program or related service provider, case manager. Ensures that all required functions, practices, and procedures of the CPSE/CSE including referrals, recommendations to the Board of Education, placements, programming and funding are in alignment with the required timelines. Acts as consultant and liaison to all local preschool and daycare programs- identification and evaluation of children with special education needs, ongoing contact with Westchester County Health Department and Office of Services for Children with Disabilities. Maintains ongoing accountability for and assessment of each student with disabilities who is under the jurisdiction of the CPSE Maintains accountability for all CPSE recommendations and conducts annual reviews of each student's individual program. Maintains availability to parents, students and staff for on-going concerns. Functions as a case manager for all CPSE students Conducts students’ observations regularly. Facilitates special education data collection and confirms data accuracy for district, federal and state reporting. Implements Board of Education policies, and administers rules and regulations relating to special education. Keeps current with the rules and regulations in regard to Special Education and assures district compliance. Attends and/or conducts staff meetings as necessary to support the proper implementation of IEPs. Assists in the observation process for special education teachers and support staff by completing formal pre-observation conferences, observations, and post-observation conferences as assigned by the Director of Special EducationQualifications: Relevant NYS Certification in any of the following areas: Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or other related Certification areas working with students with special educational needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written and digital).Salary starting at $75,259 or higher depending on experience and education plus a 9.5% stipendCandidates should apply on OLAS January 19, 2024.
