The Bedford Central School District is seeking a Director of Special Education - Tenure Track, 11 Month PositionCommencing with the 23/24 School Year The Bedford Central School District is a large, diverse, high-performing school district located in Westchester County, NY, serving approximately 4,000 students who reside in the towns of Bedford, Pound Ridge, Mount Kisco, and parts of New Castle and North Castle. Candidate Requirements: Promotes success for all students in inclusive educational settings.Provides inspirational leadership and advocacy in Special Education among all staff and the community.Partners effectively with families, staff, administrators, Special Ed. parent organizations, and community agencies.Possesses an advanced understanding of instructional strategies and curriculum across the Special Education continuum.Possesses an extensive background knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.Demonstrates deep knowledge of the application of assistive technology to support student learning.Possesses experience in partnering with the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process to avoid inappropriate referrals to special education.Has a strong foundation in Special Education law and regulations.Possesses knowledge and experience with budget development and management.Application deadline: Candidates should apply on OLAS by March 21, 2023 Qualifications: Current New York State Administrative Certification Required (SDL)Experience as a successful Special Education administrator is preferredSpecial Education teacher certification is requiredSalary: According to contract between District and Administrators Unit (BASA) The Bedford Central School District does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
