Fall Seasonal Assistant to the Athletic DirectorPrimary Function: To provide seasonal support to assist the Athletic Department in the overall management of the BCSD Athletic Programs in an afterschool, evening, and weekend capacity at the direction of the Director of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics.Qualifications: NYS valid teaching certificate, preferred but not required Current or prior experience as a head coach or an assistant coach of a high school athletic program preferred but not required. Current BCSD employee in good standing and Board Approved preferred but not required Effective communicator, with excellent organizational and human resource skills.Responsibilities: Assist the Athletic Director in supervising and community communication with High School and Middle School athletic programs in coordination with the Principal, Superintendent, and others. Assist the Athletic Director in coordination of support personnel for all athletic contests, including game day parent involvement, security, scorekeepers, scoreboard operators, announcers, DJ’s and emergency personnel and apparatus (i.e Ambulance and Fire Department). Assist the Athletic Director in the supervision of the athletic coaches and reporting event scores. Assist the Athletic Director with end of season reporting, meetings, input for coach evaluations including and not limited to creation of google forms, payroll processing for stipends and postseason pay. Coordinate the articulation and testing of any the Athletic Placement Process for our middle school prospective athletes and their families. Schedule, plan, develop, implement and attending meetings as determined by the Athletic Director for athletic programming (i.e. Coach, Parent, Community). Notify the District Director of Athletics and the appropriate building administrator of all situations requiring possible disciplinary action of student/athletes and work with the District Director of Athletics, administrator, coach and parents on appropriate follow-upManage all athletic gear; inventory and maintenance of athletic equipment including but not limited to reconditioning, acquiring lost and non-returned items, recommending purchases/replacements as needed, gaining competitive bids, creation and payment of purchase orders and contract negotiations. Ensure all indoor and outdoor facilities are prepared for practices and contests with coordination of transportation, facilities, custodial, maintenance and grounds departments in relation to Athletics Department needs. Collaborate in creating, amending and implementing policies and procedures relating to the athletic programs. Assist the Athletic Director with social media communications and posts. Promote activities designed to foster school spirit among students for the athletic teams, in conjunction with the Student Athletic Club (SAC), Dean of Student Affairs, Spirit Wear, Fundraising, Play Days, Girls in Sports, Fox Night, Homecoming, Hall of Fame and Senior Events.?
