SECONDARY SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER (Rombout Middle School) Description : This is a probationary, tenure-track position that begins at the start of the 2026-27 school year. Minimum Qualifications : Valid NYS Certification in Social Studies 7-12 required. Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the following are required: NYS Learning Standards and curriculum design, delivery, and assessment; Knowledge and/or prior experience with curriculum planning and development of secondary Social Studies courses; Effective, student centered classroom management strategies; Differentiated instruction to support the needs of diverse learners in the classroom; Culturally responsive instructional practices for secondary classrooms; Integration of technology to plan, deliver, and assess student learning; Use of summative and formative student data to inform instructional decisions and student progress; Effective strategies for student and family engagement; Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, required; Prior teaching experience preferred; Background in Social Studies preferred.
