LEAVE REPLACEMENT SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERJV Forrestal Elementary MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:NYS Certification Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2, Grades 1-6);Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the following are required:o NYS Learning Standards and curriculum design, delivery, and assessment for primary education;o Effective instructional practices for specially designed instruction and the delivery of special education services for students with disabilities in general education settings and special class settings;o Effective, student centered classroom management strategies;o Differentiated instruction to support the needs of diverse learners in the classroom;o Culturally responsive instructional practices support student learning needs;o Integration of technology to plan, deliver, and assess student learning;o Use of summative and formative student data to inform instructional decisions and student progress;o Effective strategies for student and family engagement;o Knowledge/experience with IEP Direct for development, implementation and progress monitoring of student’s IEP’s;o Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills required;o Prior teaching experience preferred, experience in co-taught settings preferred.
