2025-2026 School Year NYS Certification Students with Disabilities Birth-Grade 2, Grades 1-6 Required; Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the following are required:NYS Learning Standards and curriculum design, delivery, and assessment for secondary education;Effective instructional practices for specially designed instruction and the delivery of special education services for students with disabilities in general education settings and special class settings;Effective, student centered classroom management strategies;Differentiated instruction to support the needs of diverse learners in the classroom;Culturally responsive instructional practices support student learning needs;Integration of technology to plan, deliver, and assess student learning;Use of summative and formative student data to inform instructional decisions and student progress;Effective strategies for student and family engagement;Knowledge/experience with IEP Direct for development, implementation and progress monitoring of student’s IEP’s;Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills required;Prior teaching experience within Elementary Special Class settings preferred;Prior teacher experience and/or skills supporting individuals with Autism and utilization of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices preferred.
